1. Information We Collect

AceX collects information you provide directly and automatically when you use our app. This includes:

a) Account & Profile Information

  • Full name, username, email address, phone number, and date of birth
  • Profile photo, bio, gender, and language preference
  • Sports preferences, game level, and years of experience
  • Coach profile information (if applicable), including availability and gallery photos

b) Health & Fitness Data

AceX accesses health and fitness data from Apple HealthKit (iOS) and Google Health Connect (Android) exclusively in read-only mode. We do not write or modify any health data on your device.

Specific data types accessed via Google Health Connect:

  • ExerciseSession — exercise session records, including activity type (e.g., tennis, padel, badminton, squash, table tennis, pickleball), start time, end time, duration, and session title
  • TotalCaloriesBurned — total calories burned during exercise sessions
  • Distance — distance covered during exercise sessions

Specific data types accessed via Apple HealthKit:

  • Workout samples — workout records, including workout activity type, start time, end time, and duration
  • ActiveEnergyBurned — active calories burned during workouts
  • DistanceWalkingRunning — distance recorded during workouts
  • WorkoutRoute — route data associated with workouts recorded on Apple Watch

How we collect this data:

This data is accessed only after you grant explicit permission through the platform's native health permissions dialog (Health Connect on Android or HealthKit on iOS). You must actively opt in; no health data is accessed without your consent.

How we use this data:

  • To display your racquet sport workout history within the app (duration, calories, distance)
  • To allow you to link workout sessions to your match history and performance tracking
  • To show the source app that recorded the workout (e.g., Samsung Health, Google Fit, Garmin Connect, Apple Watch)

How we store this data:

Health data is fetched in real-time from your device's health platform and displayed within the app. We do not permanently store raw health data on our servers. Workout summaries (duration, calories, activity type) may be stored on our servers only when you explicitly choose to link a workout to a match or post.

How to revoke access:

You can revoke AceX's access to your health data at any time:

  • Android: Settings > Apps > Health Connect > App permissions > AceX > Remove all permissions
  • iOS: Settings > Health > Data Access & Devices > AceX > Turn Off All

c) Location Data

  • GPS coordinates (with your permission) to find nearby players, clubs, schools, and events
  • Location information you attach to posts, events, listings, and matches

d) User-Generated Content

  • Posts, comments, photos, and videos you share
  • Match results, scores, and game statistics
  • Marketplace listings with descriptions, prices, and images
  • Reviews, ratings, and feedback you provide
  • Chat messages and attachments sent to other users

e) Payment Information

  • Transaction data processed through Stripe and Mercado Pago, including payment method, amounts, and transaction status
  • Subscription and plan details for school/group memberships
  • Payer identification (name, email, CPF for PIX payments in Brazil)

f) Device & Technical Information

  • Device brand, model, operating system version, and platform
  • Push notification tokens for delivering notifications
  • App version and crash/error reports

g) Calendar Data

  • With your permission, we create and manage calendar events on your device for scheduled classes, sessions, and events you register for

h) Analytics & Advertising Data

  • App usage data and interaction events collected through Firebase Analytics
  • Advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS) collected only with your explicit consent via the App Tracking Transparency prompt

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve our services
  • Connect you with other athletes, training partners, and coaches
  • Personalize your experience and recommend relevant content
  • Send push notifications about activities, messages, and updates
  • Process payments and manage subscriptions
  • Display your match history, statistics, and performance data
  • Import and display your workout data from health platforms
  • Enable real-time messaging between users
  • Analyze app usage to improve features and fix issues
  • Ensure security and prevent fraud

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services that may collect or process your data:

  • Clerk — authentication and account management
  • Stripe and Mercado Pago — payment processing
  • Firebase (Google) — analytics and push notifications
  • Apple HealthKit and Google Health Connect — health and fitness data (read-only, with your permission)
  • Google Maps and Google Places — location and mapping services
  • Amazon Web Services (AWS) — file storage for uploaded media

4. Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information only in the following situations:

  • With other users, according to the privacy settings you choose (e.g., profile info, posts, match results)
  • With service providers who help us operate the app (as listed in Section 3)
  • When required by law or to protect our legal rights
  • In case of merger, acquisition, or sale of assets

5. Data Security

We implement technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. This includes data encryption in transit and at rest, secure token storage on your device using platform-native secure storage (Keychain on iOS, Keystore on Android), strict access controls, and regular security audits.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access and update your personal information
  • Request deletion of your account and data
  • Opt out of marketing communications
  • Export your data in a readable format
  • Revoke permissions granted to the app (location, health data, calendar, notifications, tracking)
  • Manage dependent/child accounts linked to your profile

7. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to improve your experience, analyze app usage, and personalize content. You can manage your cookie preferences in your device settings.

8. Data Retention

We keep your personal information for as long as necessary to provide our services and comply with legal obligations. Chat messages are retained while the conversation exists. Health and fitness data imported from HealthKit or Health Connect is displayed in real-time and not permanently stored on our servers. When you delete your account, we remove or anonymize your personal information, except when retention is necessary for legal reasons.

9. Children's Privacy

AceX is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Parents or guardians may create and manage dependent accounts for minors under their supervision. If you believe we have collected information from a child without proper consent, please contact us immediately.

10. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or by email. Continued use of AceX after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
